ESWT in Neurology
Prof. Karsten Knobloch and Prof. Tomáš Nedělka
Edited by Prof. Karsten Knobloch and Prof. Tomáš Nedělka, the reference book offers the first comprehensive overview of one of the newest and at the same time most fascinating areas of application of extracorporeal shock wave therapy: the treatment of neurological conditions.
The publication covers a wide range of topics and indications – from peripheral nervous system disorders to spasticity and spinal ESWT. Another major focus is the application of shock waves to the brain (better known as Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS)) in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Based on current research and their own experience, TPS pioneers from around the world report on this new therapeutic option. Numerous colour illustrations and the clear structure facilitate understanding.
The two editors are internationally respected experts in the field of shock wave therapy. Prof. Karsten Knobloch is the current acting Secretary General (former President) of the German-speaking International Society for Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (DIGEST) and Vice President of the International Society for Medical Shockwave Treatment (ISMST). Prof. Tomáš Nedělka is the current Congress President of the 24th ISMST World Congress (September 8-10, 2022, Prague).
